From Tomorrowland to Travel Planning: Why I Leave a Little Magic at Your Disney Doorstep
If you’ve ever received a surprise delivery at your resort before a magical Disney day—or plan to soon—you may have found a bit of pixie dust from me, Stephanie Landry.
My love for Disney didn’t start with becoming a travel advisor—it goes way back. I wasn’t the college girl heading to the beach for spring break. Nope! I was hopping a plane to Orlando with my best friend, sprinting through rope drop, and soaking in every show, snack, and spark of Disney magic we could find.
In fact, I once made it through auditions to be a Disney Character Performer. While life led me down a different path (one with three little ones of my own now!), the magic never left my heart.
Before travel planning came into the picture, dance was my first passport. As a performer, I danced across the world—at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, down the streets of NYC in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, under the lights of Las Vegas, and yes, even on the Tomorrowland stage at Walt Disney World. Each performance gave me a taste of something bigger: the joy of discovering new places, connecting with others, and creating unforgettable moments.
That spirit lives on in every trip I plan today.
As a Senior Agent and Team Advisor with Magical Horizons Travel, I design each itinerary with deep personalization and heart. We asked Stephanie, “What is your favorite thing to experience in the Orlando area, home of Magical Vacation Services?”
My favorite thing to experience in the Orlando area is watching children become completely immersed in the magic—whether it’s during a character meet and greet, a parade, a stage show, or fireworks lighting up the sky. Their joy is so pure, it brings tears to my eyes every time. And honestly, even as an adult, that first step into the parks still gives me chills—the magic never fades!
At Magical Vacation Services, we like to keep things fun! We encourage our agents to answer a wildcard question of their choice, which is always entertaining and interesting. Stephanie chose the question:
“If you could watch one movie again for the first time, which one would it be and why?”
She provided an excellent answer: That’s an easy one—I’d watch The Sound of Music again for the very first time in a heartbeat. It’s the film that sparked my love for musical theater. I can quote every line, sing every song, and dance along to every scene… to experience that awe and wonder all over again for the first time would be pure magic!
